Fundraisers included the silent auction, the sponsored golf tournament and Dinners for Six.
 
Visits were made to the Morrinsville Club, the Te Rapa Dairy Factory, St Paul’s Collegiate for a Rotary meeting, and Candyland for a rural-urban night.
 
Rotary projects included student exchange, and the sponsoring of a GSE Team member. Bill Gibson was appointed Club Liaison Officer for DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education).
 
The fishing contest again featured, and Club members participated in a hands-on project at Woodlands to restore a historic room and its fittings.
 
The children’s Christmas party catered for 50 disadvantaged youngsters. A mid-winter Christmas dinner was held with the DG as guest.
 
Donations were made to the Insoll Avenue School for playground equipment, the Fire Service for Jaws of Life, and the Burns Unit at Waikato Hospital.
 
A tiki crafted by John Mashlan was gifted to the Rotary Club of Leesburg in Florida to raise funds at a charity banquet. Sleeping kits were supplied for children in the world’s disaster areas.
 
A special Vocational Award was presented to Robbie Jones for her work amongst disadvantaged children and Nelson Cullen was honoured as a Paul Harris Fellow.
