“A Time for Action”
Excellent participation by Rotarians and wives ensured the success of a Caravan Raffle to raise funds for Children’s Play Equipment at Chartwell Park.
Gary Orbell as Bulletin Editor won second prize in the District Bulletin Award. Elgar Henry was Director of the District RYLA Seminar.
In conjunction with Rotaract, in a coats-off project, 320 bags of sheep manure were bagged to augment Club funds. An inaugural Progressive Dinner organised by John Mashlan was a highlight, funding our second plateau with Rotary Foundation. (A club became a 100% Rotary Foundation club when its contribution for the Rotary year equalled US$10 per member. Subsequent years' $10 per member contributions raised that to the next plateau level.)
